چکیده
extensive ischemic compromise, no resection should be done. Factors that seem to alter early survival are early diagnosis and anticoagulation, associated diseases and patient age. The relapse rate is high; thus, when a hereditary hypercoagulable state is detected, prolonged systemic anticoagulation should be maintained, while in other pro-thrombotic conditions 6 months of treatment provide adequate coverage. In summary, in patients with abdominal pain that has developed over several days or weeks with no demonstrated cause, MVT should be considered since early treatment can avoid mesenteric ischemia or a fatal outcome.

CT features of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula with complications.
OBJECTIVE We evaluated the computed tomography (CT) features of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula (JPDD) with complications in patients who had acute abdomen. MATERIALS AND METHODS Nineteen JPDD were evaluated in 14 patients (mean age: 50 years), who had acute abdomen on contrast-enhanced helical CT with a diagnosis of complicated JPDD by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP...
متن کاملJuxtapapillary duodenal diverticulum masquerading as a cystic pancreatic neoplasm
The duodenum is the secondmost common site for gastrointestinal diverticulum. Patients with duodenal diverticula are often asymptomatic. Diagnosis of this condition is often made incidentally in 14.5% of barium examinations of the upper gastrointestinal tract. Prevalence of this condition is reported to be 22% of cadavers on autopsy. The clinical presentation is typically characterized by non-s...
متن کاملJuxtapapillary duodenal diverticula and pancreatobiliary disease.
Juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula (JPD) are observed in around 10-20% of patients undergoing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). They are acquired extraluminal outpouchings of the duodenal wall through 'locus minoris resistance' and their incidence increases with age. They have been studied mainly with regard to their association with pancreatobiliary disease. Choledocholit...
متن کاملAre duodenal diverticula associated with choledocholithiasis?
The results of 250 consecutive ERCP examinations were analysed in order to assess whether or not juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula are associated with choledocholithiasis. Cholangiography showed common bile duct stones in 71 patients of whom 25 (35%) had periampullary diverticula. Clear bile ducts were shown in 99, of whom only 12 had diverticula (12%) (p less than 0.05). After allowing for t...
متن کاملThe clinical importance of different localizations of the papilla associated with juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula.
BACKGROUND Previous studies have evaluated the presence of juxtapapillary duodenal diverticula (JPDD) and the association with pancreatobiliary disease, but not the association of the papilla with an existing JPDD. We investigated the association of different localizations of the papilla with JPDD. METHODS We studied patients in whom JPDD was detected during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopan...
